World Championship Frisian Draughts 2024

Location: Fryslân - Harlingen
Date: 16 - 24 August 2024

Tournament system:

1. After eight rounds of the Swiss system, the four highest ranked participants will play a final round-robin grandmaster tournament, 2 games between them each round.
2. Time control: Fischer, 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move;
3. Pairing:
3.1. First eight rounds, according to Swiss Perfect
3.2. Final: R1(1-3, 2-4) R2(3-1 4-2), R3(3-2, 4-1). R4 2-3, 1-4), R5(1-2, 3-4), R6(2-1, 4-3)

Title:

The winner receives the title World Champion Frisian Draughts.

WC Qualification tournaments:

1. All participants need to be registered on Lidraughts in the WFD team.

Excluded players:
1.(From the Frisian Championships): Jelle Wiersma, Taeke Kooistra, Marten Walinga, Henk Haanstra, Siebe Walinga, Hein de Vries, Tsjerk Wijbenga and Pieter Hoogterp.
2. Players already qualified for the 2024 World Championships.

1. Participants and admission:
1.1. There is no limit on the number of participants except for the finals whose list of participants has been established.
1.2. Players placed for the finals will be excluded from participating in subsequent preliminary rounds.
1.3 From each qualification, three players qualify for the finals.
2. When: 17, 18, 24, 25 and 26 May 2024
3. Tournament systems: E-Sports tournaments, (at least) seven rounds. The preliminaries and final will be conducted as E-Sports tournament.
4. Time control: Fischer: 3 Hours, 8 minutes + 10 seconds per move, seven rounds
5. Pairing: According to Lidraughts
6. Qualification: The tournament (final) is a qualifying tournament for the Frisian Draughts World Championship 2024, the highest placed player will be designated for a place in the World Championship Frisian Draughts 2024.
7. Reserve players:
7.1 For the final: In case of cancellations, the list will be completed with players from the arena competition to wich the canceling participants played.
7.2 For the World Championships Frisian Draughts , the consecutive player of the final standings.

Frisian Draughts Open E-Sports tournament (2024)

Organiser: WFD Foundation / Lidraughts

Excluded players: Players already qualified for the 2024 World Champonships.

1. Participants and admission:
1.1. There is no limit on the number of participants except for the finals whose list of participants has been established.
1.2. Players placed for the finals will be excluded from participating in subsequent preliminary rounds.
1.3 From each qualification, three players qualify for the finals.
2. When: 7, 8, 14, 15 and 16 June 2024
3. Tournament systems: E-Sports tournaments, (at least) seven rounds. Both the preliminaries and finals will be conducted as E-Sports tournament.
4. Time control: Fischer: 2 Hours, 8 minutes + 10 seconds per move, seven rounds
5. Pairing: According to Lidraughts
6. Qualification: The tournament (final) is a qualifying tournament for the World Championship Frisian Draughts 2024, the highest placed player will be designated for a place in the Frisian Draughts World Championship 2024.
7. Reserve players:
7.1 For the final: In case of cancellations, the list will be completed with players from the arena competition to wich the canceling participants played.
7.2 For the World Championships Frisian Draughts , the consecutive player of the final standings.


National Frisian Draughts Dutch Championship (2023), qualifying and final.

1. Participants and admission:
1.1. Qualifying Arena tournaments:
Only players of Dutch nationality can participate.
There is no limit on the number of participants.
Players placed for the finals will be excluded from participating in subsequent preliminary rounds.
1.2. Final:
The 8 participants in the Dutch Championship Frisian Draughts are qualified at preliminary qualifying tournaments, 4 times 2 players from the qualifier tournaments
2. When:
2.1 Qualifying Arenena tournaments: September - October 2023
2.2 Final: 14 - 23 Dember 2023 in Drachten
3. Tournament system: Four qualifiying Arena tournaments and one Final.
3.1. Arena tournament, seven rounds
3.2. Finals (Master tournament): Round-robin seven rounds
4. Time control:
4.1. arena: 2 Hours; Fischer, 6 minutes + 6 seconds per move
4.2. Round-robin: Fischer 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move
5. Pairing:
5.1 Arena tournament: According to Lidraughts (order of registration)
5.2 Final:
Round 1 (5-1 6-2 7-3 8-4), round 2 (1-6 2-5 3-8 4-7), round 3 (1-4 2-3 5-8 6-7), round 4 (7-1 8-2 5-3 6-4),
round 5 (1-8 2-7 3-6 4-5), round 6 (3-1 2-4 5-7 8-6), round 7 (1-2 4-3 6-5 7-8)
6. Qualifications: From each qualification, two players qualify for the finals. (In order of placement)
6.1. Two players from the first arena tournament;
6.2. Two players from the second arena tournament;
6.3. Two players from the third arena tournament;
6.4. Two players from fourth arena tournament.
6. Reserve players: In case of cancellations, the list will be completed with the next highest player from the arena competition in wich the canceling participant qualified.
7. Title: The winner receives the title Dutch Champion Frisian Draughts.


Fryslân Open Tournament (2024)

Organiser: WFD Foundation

1. Participants and admission: The tournament is open to WFD participants for which the following applies:
2. When and where: 20 - 25 February, Franeker
3. Tournament system: After eight rounds of the Swiss system, the four highest ranked participants will play a final round-robin Grandmaster tournament with 1 mutual game each round and the next four players will play a round-robin Master tournament.
4. Time control:
4.1. Swiss tournament: Fischer, 40 minutes + 20 seconds per move
4.2. Round-robin tournament: Fischer, 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move
5. Pairing:
5.1. First eight rounds, according to Swiss Perfect (placement by lot)
5.2. Final: Round 1 (1-4 2-3), round 2 (3-1, 4-2), round 3 (1-2, 3-4)
6. Qualification: The tournament is also a qualifying tournament for the FRYSK! World Championship and the Frisian Draughts World Championship, the highest eights placed players will be designated for a place in the two World Championships.


Frisian Championship, (2024)

Organiser: Dambûn Frysk Spul

1. This tournament consists of eight players. They play a round tournament.
2. Round 1 and 2: 27 January Skearnegoutum,
Round 3: 30 January Jorwert,
Round 4 and 5: 3 February Lollum,
Round 6 and 7: 10 February Hartwert.
3. The winner earns a place in the WC 2024
